A World of Taste at the SF Ferry Building Farmers’ Market

Check out one food stall that supports a special cause.

Everyone hits the Ferry Building Farmers’ Market on Saturday mornings for its endless array of scrumptious surprises. But the stand for La Cocina Community Kitchen (right next to the ever-popular Blue Bottle Coffee kiosk at the south end of the Ferry Building) is worth singling out. This nonprofit helps launch local, lower-income food business, a great place to sample a kaleidoscopic range of tastes—all-natural jams, fresh spring rolls, plantain chips, or mystipies (South African meat and veggie pies). The market takes place on Saturdays from 8 to 2 and Tuesdays from 10 to 2.
