See the Homestead of Famed Author Jack London

See his Valley of the Moon ranch, and walk trails to pay homage at his grave.

Read Call of the Wild to remember the genius of Jack London, then visit Jack London State Historic Park in Glen Ellen, the bucolic ranch and cottage where the author hiked, rode horseback, contemplated, and wrote some of his famous adventure stories. The author lived his last years here, from 1905 until his death in 1916, and even built his dream house, called "Wolf House"--which sadly burned the day before London and his wife planned to move in.

Here you can walk through the original cottage, called the “House of Happy Walls,” nestled in a shady grove and now a museum. Visitors can also take a short walk to see the dam, lake, and bathhouse built by the author, who loved working this ranchland. Another trail leads to London's Valley of the Moon gravesite.
