1. Do you have transportation into Yosemite National Park?
Yes, we have YARTS (Yosemite Area Regional Transportation System) YARTS offers an alternative to driving into the park. The service runs from Merced to Yosemite on Highway 140. Contact the California Welcome Center for schedule and information at (209) 384-2791. for ticket information www.yosemite.com
 
2. What are the trees that are in bloom along highway 59, 140 and 99?
From late February to early March your looking at Almond, Peach, and Apricot.
 
3. Can I still drive my car through the Wawona Tunnel Tree?
No, the tree fell one spring day in 1969, just a few months before astronuts landed on the moon, the huge tree toppled over into the powdery snow. The tree had not been the largest sequoia, nor the oldest. But it had thrived in the grove for 2,200 years, while humans had gone from horse-drawn chariots to rockets to the moon.
 
4. How did the Wawona Tree get its name?
It was named the "Wawona Tree," using an Indian word describing the hooting of the owls that lived among the giant sequoias.
