Drop in at the National Yo-Yo Museum in Chico

See the world's largest display of yo-yos in this kick-back college town.

It's not everday that you get to visit a place devoted entirely to toys--and not just any toys--but ones that glide up and down on a string. Yo-yos have been charming children--and grownups--for generations. Remember Tom Smothers as Yo-Yo Man? (No? Take a spin on YouTube and feel the power of "yo.") This little gem of a museum is tucked away in a downtown toy shop at 320 Broadway Street . Even though it's not big in size, it does have some pretty impressive exhibits, including the world’s largest wooden yo-yo, weighing in at 256 pounds (and aptly named Big-Yo).

Celebrate the end of summer on Labor Day Weekend with a Classic Car Show n' Shine, 50's & 60's DJ music, and the street fair with food & vendors. Explore the Tinman Triathlon at Lake Siskiyou, and the annual Blackberry Music Festival at City Park. The Rotary Club will offer a barbeque lunch, desserts, beverages and event t-shirts. Blackberry pies, baked exclusively for the event, are available by the slice or whole, with or without ice cream. Come join in with friends, family and visitors for a peaceful afternoon of music and fun to celebrate the end of summer.
